Arrival
Please contact Valley Farm a day or two before your holiday and let us know your expected arrival time. Feel free to ask us any questions you need to know or any you may have during your stay. Please inform us straight away of anything is not working or of any breakages so we can endeavour to fix any problems/replace items as soon as possible.
What you need to bring
Please bring your normal holiday items and beach towels as these are not provided. If you have a dog please bring an old towel to wipe them down in the event of wet conditions. The cottages are provided with some complimentary consumables at the commencement of your stay. If these are used up you must then provide your own, e.g. toilet rolls, toiletries, washing up liquid, cling film.
Shopping
We have many fabulous shops nearby including locally renowned Millers Farm Shop and a garage selling papers on the A35. Only two 2 miles away is the Market Town of Axminster where you will find a Co-op and Tesco. Should you wish to order ahead, Sainsbury, Tesco, Ocado and others deliver online shopping to our area.
Items of note
We have a strict non-smoking policy inside the cottages.
On request we can also provide:
- Extra chairs.
- Please return any items borrowed in clean condition for other guests to use.
- We stock some books and games – please return in a clean, complete condition before you leave.
- All cottages have linen, towels, hairdryer, clock radio alarms, tea towel and umbrellas.
Laundry
Our shared facilities include a complimentary washing machine, a tumble dryer (we do ask for £2 due to high electricity costs), an iron and an ironing board. Outside drying facilities are available.
Changeover Day
Check in is 4.00pm onwards and we kindly request guests vacate the property promptly by 10am, this is to ensure we have time to thoroughly clean each cottage for our next guests.
Our booking policy is very flexible, allowing any start/changeover day and any length of stay from 3 days upwards.
Additional Services
Please let us know if you require additional services such as housekeeping, childminding, beauty treatments, catering etc. We are delighted to have so many excellent facilities and providers nearby and any advance requests will ensure we can help you receive the services you require.
Valley Farm is a perfect base for attending some of the many courses on offer in the area, for example poetry, pottery, River Cottage HQ and Axminster Tools, many of these have information online but require advance booking.
Parking
Each cottage has one allocated parking space, further parking available nearby.
EV charger
7.2 kWh EV charger available in parking area for guests use. Electricity costs are what we pay, plus a very modest margin to help towards the cost of the installation – still a lot cheaper than commercial chargers.
Departure
Please checkout by 10am. We would be grateful if you can leave the keys inside the cottage by the front door and leave the front door unlocked. Thank you
